Walt Disney World has always been colorful. Everything from the shows to the shops to the eateries are decked out in bright hues that appeal to the eyes of both young and old. As the weather gets warmer and summer officially begins, this is becoming even more prominent in the parks. Over the past few weeks, merchandise covered in the colors of the rainbow have been popping up in the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Downtown Disney and are selling off the shelves.

I have always been one who loves bright colors. Blues, purples, reds, greens, and yellows all help put together an outfit that just speaks fun. The clothing that Disney Merchandise has been releasing as of lately is no exception. T-shirts, tank tops, hoodies, and bags are now featuring bold rainbows coloring Mickey heads and Walt Disney World logos. I love how happy these prints are and obviously many others do as well; the items have been selling quickly in stores throughout the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.

As time passes, the rainbow merchandise is also making its way to stores in Epcot like Mouse Gear and Downtown Disney. Clothing for both men and women is available. I think they have a very vintage feel that is a nice touch; think 1970s-style, which is also the decade in which Florida’s Magic Kingdom first opened.

In addition to clothing, rainbows are popping up in housewares. The “Color Fusion” line of plastic plates, cups, pitchers, and more was popular last summer and is making appearances again this year. While we originally saw more of an ornate design, vivid stripes are decorating the collection now and would be perfect to use during a summer barbecue. Placemats are also available like they were in the past.

Guests will also notice that Disney treats are getting “rainbow-fied” in bake shops throughout the various parks. In Big Top Souvenirs at the new Fantasyland’s Storybook Circus area, you can satisfy your sweet tooth with a variety of goodies. Among them you’ll find some of my favorite treats: candied apples, cake pops, and Mickey head crispy treats, all which are now available in rainbow patterns.

It looks like the sun isn’t going to be the only thing that is brightly shining this summer at Walt Disney World. These rainbow designs are sure to continue being popular throughout the next few months. What do you think of them?
