Recently, at Disney California Adventure, the Blue Sky Cellar unveiled a sneak peek at the renovated Market House on Main Street at Disneyland. Many fans have been concerned about the advent of Starbucks and what that might mean to the classic Main Street that we all know and love.
The Blue Sky Cellar is still focused on the Disneyland Fantasy Faire that opened this year, but on one wall there is a shadowbox depicting the plans that the imagineers have been working on for the Market House, featuring Starbucks products.
The Market House will retain its Old General Store look, keeping many of the features that the original store had.
The decorative details will give visitors that old-time feel when entering the store.
The Market House will have a real wood burning stove, and the party line phones that so many of us have enjoyed over the years. If you haven’t listened to one of these phones, then I encourage you to pick one up when the Market House reopens.
I look forward to the “new” Market House when it opens. Disneyland guests will have a place to sit indoors and enjoy a cup of coffee or hot chocolate while enjoying a delicious pastry or other snack in a beautiful old-fashioned restaurant, as only the Disney Imagineers know how to do.
