Starbucks Now Open At Epcot’s Fountain View

Today marked the opening of Starbucks‘ second in-park location at Walt Disney World Resort. Epcot’s Fountain View, which was formerly an ice cream shop, has reopened as a fully operational Starbucks offering coffee, espresso drinks, tea, pastries, and even some more substantial food options. Similar to the Starbucks that opened within Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery a few months ago, Fountain View is situated in a spot in Future World that is easily accessed as you enter or leave the park, or just to grab an afternoon pick-me-up.

The layout is very similar to the Magic Kingdom location, with two identical sides that will help ease waiting times due to crowds. Fountain View’s decor is an interesting mix of retro Epcot, and almost a relaxing spa style. The soft palette is made up of a light teal or aquamarine color and some neutral stone finishes. It’s really beautiful inside and I think it’s a perfect addition to Future World – especially with the retro touches thrown in, including the typography selections.

The full Starbucks menu is available, including its seasonal offerings like the extremely popular Pumpkin Spice Lattes which are perfect this time of year. And as we saw with the Main Street Bakery Starbucks, there seems to be a small up-charge per drink – maybe $1 – $2 more than you would traditionally see.

Starbucks merchandise such as bagged coffee, whole bean and ground, instant Starbucks VIA packets, and other items sold in traditional locations are also offered here in Epcot. There is also a full pastry counter where you can purchase muffins, danishes, cake pops, breads, and even some sandwiches. This morning they were offering four breakfast sandwiches that could be ordered at the counter.

For payment, all standard forms are accepted and the scanners for MagicBands and Key To The World cards are installed. You can also use your Starbucks Rewards card to pay for your drink – and you’ll receive a reward credit for your purchase. However, you cannot redeem any free drinks on your account at this location. It’s also important to note that the Disney Dining Plan is accepted on most of the drinks and food items as snack credits will be great for guests taking part in the plan.

So, is there now no hand-dipped ice cream in Epcot??

Yay! I have to say the layouts of the new Starbucks are great. If you are on the dining plan be sure to order the largest size drink – they all qualify as snacks! I did have to remind the manager at the Magic Kingdom that a “skinny” mocha is in fact made with sugar free syrup… she tried to tell me it was lowfat only. I let her off with a warning. LOL

Again no seating??? Starbucks inside Disney World? I don’t like it.

That used to be our favorite stop for ice cream / shakes :( I guess coffee is more popular…

I’m happy that Starbucks is in the park now. The prices seem to be on par with prices in my area (Massachusetts) maybe even a tiny bit cheaper.

Epcot is one of my favorite parks! How amazing this is going to be. Looks like there is no line? You must have caught them on a slow day. The Starbucks line at Magic Kingdom was much longer…
