624x351When Toy Story 3 came out in 2010, a big question on the minds of Pixar and Toy Story fans was whether or not that would be the last time we would see Woody, Buzz, and the gang. Pixar answered this question a year later when Hawaiian Vacation, the first Toy Story Toons short, debuted before Cars 2.  The second Toy Story Toons short, Small Fry, premiered months later in theaters with The Muppets. The third of the series, Partysaurus Rex, was released along with Finding Nemo 3D.  This Halloween marks the debut of the first Pixar television special, Toy Story of TERROR!

In Toy Story of TERROR!, the toys are on a fun road trip, but mysterious events unfold in front of them after stopping at a roadside motel. Mr. Potato Head goes missing and the gang must work together to solve what is happening. Is the roadside motel truly haunted? Will Mr. Pricklepants’ expertise knowledge of theater and horror films help the group escape before they are doomed?

Like the Toy Story Toons shorts, a lot of the characters from the classic films will return for Toy Story of TERROR! including Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Timothy Dalton as Mr. Pricklepants, and Kristen Schaal as Trixie. Carl Weathers will be joining the cast as Combat Carl, the toy soldier Sid blew up in the first Toy Story film. Guests who attended the Walt Disney Animation Panel at the 2013 D23 Expo were treated to the first 10 minutes of the special and the buzz was positive.

Toy Story of TERROR! will air on Wednesday, October 16 on ABC at 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT. Be sure to watch for our review of Toy Story of TERROR! shortly after!
