Bows, Polka Dots, & You: Minnie Merchandise for the Disney Fashionista

| February 14, 2014 | 1 Reply

Big bows, playful polka dots, and a whole lot of cute factor. Minnie Mouse sure knows how to sweeten up Mickey’s day. Themed to the “lady in charge,” new fashion options at Walt Disney World will help you add a bit of fun to your wardrobe. I took a stroll through Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently and found just about everything and anything that a Disney fashionista could hope to add to her closet. Let’s take a look together, but be warned, these items will quickly become a part of your next shopping wish list!

There's new Minnie-themed merchandise in the parks, and it's cuter than ever!

There was a time when wearing character shirts was a major fashion faux pas (like during my middle school years…shudder…). Thank goodness those days are long gone! Now, you can find a variety of blouses, sweaters, handbags, and accessories that let you display your favorite friend in style. I am particularly impressed by the new Minnie line which goes above and beyond what one would expect to find in stores. The designs are bold, sweet, and trendy.

At Keystone Clothiers in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can find a ton of Minnie-themed items for sale. This happens to be one of my favorite shops in Walt Disney World as they always have a varied selection of merchandise and often get newer collections before other stores on property. When I first walked in, I was greeted by a lovely display of scarves, bracelets, and handbags that was obviously put together for Valentine’s Day. The red and white colors Minnie is known for are not over the top, but definitely play a key role. I love the details of the handbags – sequins, charms, and inspiring quotes about the World. There is also a matching women’s cut top featuring Minnie and her main squeeze.

If you’re looking for a handbag that is a bit more modest, but still carries that edge, check out this new leopard print satchel. It is sturdy and has plenty of room for all of your trinkets. The animal print front is a soft plush material that matches the gold trim of the buckles. Tiny gold Mickey head decoratives finish it off. This bag goes beautifully with the Mickey & Minnie wallet which is large enough to hold the essentials including a checkbook.

Nearby, shoppers can find other tops that are accented with tulle, sequins, and glitter. My favorite is this sleek Minnie silhouette blouse that has a red bow on the front and her name scripted on underneath. It is a good option for both day and night. To dress it up, consider a pair of these patent leather style flats.

This beauty caught my eye the second I turned the corner. Nodding to the 1950s-style bowling bags that are now making a comeback, this white and black puffer tote is a fun compliment to any outfit. Both Mickey and Minnie are imprinted on the front and a large charm hangs from the strap. I thought the inscription on the bottom was particularly darling.

Spring is still a few months away, but there’s no reason why we can’t sport blues, pinks, and purples until it gets here. This new Walt Disney World sketch top is cuter than words. The mouse couple appear on it, of course, but in their original 1930s style. I love the colors of the flowers on this piece; the gray background makes them pop. A similar hoodie and t-shirt are also available as well as wallets and journals.

It’s been fun sharing some of the new Minnie fashions with you. I hope you check them out during your next trip to the World. You can find them in stores all over property. Happy shopping!
