February is a beautiful time of year here in Orlando. The temps are great, the humidity is lower and the parks are less crowded. The crowds do swell for the Disney Princess Marathon races but it is a great time to visit the Walt Disney World theme parks.
If you notice from last month they have installed a painted scrim on Main Street USA. I love the little details that they put into them. If you look up close it looks like the building’s paint is worn and there are so many other small details used.
They are also working on the steps outside City Hall. You can enter the building from the right side.
Disney is supposed to be draining the moat surrounding Cinderella Castle. A lot of people get upset when Disney does this but unless you get right up to the fence you would never notice the water is missing.
The construction walls are starting to come down on the back side of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Coaster in New Fantasyland. I am always amazed how they can build an attraction and it looks like it has been there forever. Walt Disney World has still not announced an opening date for this new attraction.
I always try to do something new every time I go to the parks but I was pleasantly surprised by this act I happened upon. Your kids will love the humor.
The new Nikon picture spot signs are starting to appear in the parks. Nikon replaced Kodak as the official camera of Walt Disney World.
Splash Mountain looks a little lonely. It will be reopening 3/22/2014.
The construction walls are up outside the Enchanted Tiki Room. The attraction is still open.
With all this work going on you can still have a great time in Magic Kingdom. The lines aren’t long and if you take advantage of FastPass + you can experience your favorite attractions without waiting in line. I will be strolling around Epcot in the next few days. I have been watching the progress as the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival opens March 5, 2014. Spring is almost here in Orlando! See you in the parks!
