The Actors Fund, a national human services organization that helps everyone working in the performing arts and entertainment industry, from performers to those behind the scenes, will hold its Annual Gala on Monday, April 28, 2014 in New York City. This year they will be honoring Disney Theatrical Productions.
The event will be held at the New Amsterdam Theatre (214 West 42nd Street). A limited number of tickets are currently on sale – $100 and $250 – and a very limited number of $20 balcony tickets available. Tickets for the full gala evening start at $1,500 and include the benefit performance and a private post-show cast party at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel. The benefit evening celebrating 20 years of Disney on Broadway begins at 7 p.m. at the New Amsterdam Theatre and will include a special performance featuring special cast performances and production numbers from some of Disney’s most beloved Broadway musicals including like Newsies, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aida, Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid—and Disney’s recently opened musical, Aladdin.
As previously announced, the evening will also honor Actors Fund President and CEO Joseph P. Benincasa, who oversees the programs and services of The Actors Fund, for his 25 years of service to the creative community. Disney Theatrical Productions and Mr. Benincasa will each receive the Medal of Honor, the highest award given by the 132-year old non-profit human services organization.
