May 1st 2014, marked the 25th anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Walt Disney World’s third theme park opened on May 1st 1989 as Disney•MGM Studios, and in 2008 was renamed to its current Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

25th Anniversary Re-dedication Ceremony

Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a re-dedication ceremony in front of the Sorcerer Mickey Hat and the Chinese Theater which cast members that have been working since the park opened took the stage along with Hollywood Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy.

25th Anniversary Motorcade

Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a special ‘celebrity’ motorcade featuring Chip ‘n Dale, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, Indiana Jones, Jack Sparrow, Ariel, Wreck-It Ralph, Vanellope von Schweetz, Belle, Mr. Incredible, Frozone, Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Woody and Jessie and Hollywood Mickey and Minnie.

25th Anniversary Fireworks

Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a special fireworks presentation to close out the day. Dazzling fireworks lit up the sky to a soundtrack of attractions at the park including Toy Story Midway Mania, MuppetVision 3-D, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, Star Tours, Great Movie Ride, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and a spectacular finale featuring Be Our Guest from Beauty and the Beast.

    The fireworks of the 25th Anniversary were the best I’ve seen in Hollywood Studios. They should do the fireworks every day for the whole year. The person who took the video did also a great job. Can you tell me which camera was used? I’m guessing a tripod was also used. Thanks for this great video.
