| June 26, 2014 | 22 Replies

Breaking news for Frozen fans out there! Just revealed this morning, there is word of multiple Frozen-themed activities coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer. In fact, they will begin in just over a week. Disney Parks has confirmed this news which I brought to you earlier today as a rumor. We are also seeing it pop up on both Walt Disney World’s website and My Disney Experience app. Here’s what’s in store… (note the update at the very bottom of this article)

Frozen3 (600x399)

As of early this afternoon, Disney Parks has confirmed that Frozen Summer Fun LIVE! will take place starting July 5, 2014. This is sure to satisfy the cravings of Frozen fans and help alleviate the massive wait times at the Anna and Elsa Meet & Greet in Magic Kingdom. Activities include:

  • For the First Time in Forever: A “Frozen” Sing-Along Celebration – Premiere Theater
    •  Cool down inside the Premiere Theater, where Anna and Elsa join the Royal Historians of Arendelle for a fun and comedic retelling of the unique history of their Kingdom, filled with delightful, sing-along moments from “Frozen.”
  • Olaf on Summer Vacation – Hollywood Boulevard
    • Olaf the snowman is having the time of his life on his very first summer vacation! He chimes in throughout the day to keep everyone updated on all his adventures. Plus, you can pick up your very own Take-Along cardboard Olaf from locations in the park, so he can join you on your summer vacation. And when you share your photos with Olaf on social media, be sure to tag them with #OlafSummerVacation. They may just get selected to appear in that day’s grand finale!
  • Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome – Sorcerer’s Stage
    • At 11:00 a.m. each day, Elsa and Anna arrive in Hollywood as part of their goodwill tour of neighboring kingdoms, making their way down Hollywood Boulevard in a horse-drawn sleigh. Kristoff is along for the fun, too, joined by a flurry of skaters, skiiers, ice cutters and more! The entire procession culminates in a special moment at the Sorcerer’s Hat Icon Stage to officially welcome the visiting royalty to this kingdom of Hollywoodland.
  • Coolest Summer Ever Dance Party – Sorcerer’s Hat Stage
    • Starting at 5:30 p.m. each day, a dance party takes over the area around the Sorcerer’s Hat Icon Stage, with a DJ, live band, and more! The band plays a variety of classic and contemporary summer rock & roll hits, as well as a cool, rocking medley of “Frozen” favorites. It’s going to be hot!
  • Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post & Frozen Funland – Soundstage 1
    • Inside Soundstage One, Oaken and his cousins have created a Frozen Funland filled with cold weather activities, unique photo opportunities, and more! There’s a frozen pond with ice skating demonstrations, wintertime fun for kids in the “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” play area, a “big summer blowout” with plenty of “Frozen” merchandise, and special “Frozen”-inspired food and beverage offerings.
  • Frozen Fireworks Spectacular – Hollywood Boulevard
    • Everything wraps up at 9:45 p.m. when Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf come together at the Sorcerer’s Hat Icon Stage for a grand finale to the day’s festivities, kicking off an awe-inspiring fireworks display set to the glorious music of “Frozen!”

Everyday through September 1, guests will be able to experience these offerings to find out what “frozen things really do” in summer! I think I’m most excited about the Frozen Fireworks Spectacular. Not only do I love the film, but I also adore any fireworks that the Studios puts on. They are always so elaborate.

Genius, this should boost attendance at the most tired Disney World Park.

  • DisFan

I think you have the title of the event wrong. It’s just Frozen Summer Fun, and is happening LIVE at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

    • Nicole L. Mancini

Disney officially has titled it “Frozen Summer Fun – Live at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.” I left off the hyphen. 😉

  • R5moores

I’m hoping it knocks it out of the ballpark and they extend it past Sept 1, as we are getting there Sept 7-20th. I would hate to have juuuuust missed it :o(

  • Ed

Arrrggghhhh, will be arriving September 3. I hope they keep some of these events going.

  • Sue

Good thing WDW came up with this. Considering that they had 5 hour waits to see the Frozen princesses in the slow season, imagine what a nightmare it would have been during peak season! I’m actually glad my youngest daughter is past this now.

  • Megan Goodwin

This is a good idea to try to get the crowds away from Magic Kingdom. I arrive on the September 7th (first day at the park the 8th) and I hope they are still offering it! It would give me and my family more to do at Hollywood Studios as right now it is just a half day park for us.

  • Pennydisney

How does the fireworks work with fantasmic, we arrive at WDW on the 20th July, our first day is at HS on the 21st

    • Nicole L. Mancini

What’s been done in the past (like during Star Wars Weekends), is that fireworks happen in-between Fantasmic shows. I’m sure that will be the case here.

  • Billy

Disney are not lacking behind with throwing Frozen into the parks

  • Cathy

Any idea if they will consider extending this event? We arrive Nov1 2014.

    • Nicole L. Mancini

I can’t imagine them NOT doing something Frozen moving forward especially in the winter. Nothing has been announced at this time though. Keep your fingers crossed!

  • Julia

Anyone have a link to the premium package?

    • Nicole L. Mancini

They’re not allowing you to reserve it online. Call 407-939-1939 (Disney Dining). :)

  • Sd

Will glow with the show ears work fireworks?

    • Nicole L. Mancini

I haven’t heard anything about this but would bring them along just in case. It wouldn’t surprise me if they worked.

  • Kathy

Oh, I hope the show will continue into October!!! I want to see it!!!

    • Deep Freeze Mama

We don’t get there until October 31st.
Even though it is Halloween my 3 girl would give up trick or treating to see Anna & Elsa!
I read all this cool stuff to them & when I got to the end & it said ends Sept 1st they were just heat broken and cried & cried. Have you ever heard 3 girls crying at the top of their lungs?
I should have read the whole artical first.
Now they say they don’t want to go to Disney! Oh what drama.

  • Lisa

Any idea what desserts are offered at the dessert party? Just trying to get an idea before we go to Oakens and buy anything from there since we’ve already bought tickets for the dessert party.

  • FFGardner

I would assume through Sept 1 would include the entire day Monday? Sept 1 is our planned day for Hollywood Studios due to Extra Magic Hours. My little one is beyond obsessed, we even used 2 Fastpass+ at Magic Kingdom to see Anna and Elsa on different days. Merchandise is still very scarce here in Ohio, this should be huge for WDW.

  • Danielle Asch

Can anyone tell me if it is worth the extra $ for the premium package? Or should I just go standby.

  • Bri

Great, they really need it. I’m surprised they aren’t starting to make a ride yet. Also, I heard on one of the shows of the parks that they are making an Avatar land in animal kingdom- you could possibly write about, maybe?
