In 2014, it was announced that the Alice in Wonderland attraction at Disneyland would be going down for a lengthy refurbishment to make updates and changes to the ride. Specifically, there was mention about changes being made to the exterior of the attraction, which looked rough to say the least after CalOSHA noted the upper exterior portion of the track could be considered dangerous for cast members. This led Disney to install safety rails, which detracted from the look. After months of being down, Alice in Wonderland reopened in July 2014 and it is amazing. In fact, it may be the best “classic” dark-ride in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The rails have been removed, the exterior of the attraction is completely clear and open, the interior of the ride received a great paint job, animatronics were added to help the story flow better and the best addition of all – new video screens to help fill in some of the blank spaces of the attraction and make it more interesting. Check out our videos of the attraction after the refurb and before as well as our picture in picture video of both.
