The Christmas season is well underway at the Walt Disney World Resort. Everywhere you turn, you’ll find bows, glitter, and garland adding a bit of holiday cheer. Have you ever wondered just how many decorations are used? Check out the stats below detailing what goes into making this a very special time of year.

Any idea how many poinsettia plants?

Rita, maybe 20 years ago we visited WDW at Christmas and I was amazed by the number of poinsettias, made into trees, hanging baskets and filling flower beds. I was especially impressed by a flower bed leading to the restrooms in America (EPCOT). They were planted in individual pots, They were three wide and 75 long. And this was not a high traffic area. I was once told if I ever had a question to ask any cast member. So I asked a young man in the gift shop. He had no idea, made a couple of phone calls and was finally connected with a manager in horticulture. His only answer: “A lot”

That’s a great question! I wish I had an answer. I can only imagine the number is in the thousands!!

Nicole, I need your advise please. I have looked everywhere online to try and replace a very special ornament that my daughter brought back to South Africa for me.. Alas, the only one I saw was in your blog 16 Dec 2013 .. number 8 on your top 10 favourites (Castle Envy – Mickey and Minnie in front of the Cinderella Castle) I’m so sad that it broke and really would like to find somewhere to order another one. Thank you.
