Run, don’t walk to try one of these new sandwiches in Epcot!

Yesterday my daughter and I  headed over to Epcot in Walt Disney World to try some new food offerings. I love a good grilled cheese sandwich and I couldn’t wait to try them. I am a plain Jane type of girl so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I don’t know about you but sometimes when you are out in the heat in the theme parks, a burger and fries is just too much. I was excited to see that Epcot was offering a different food choice instead of the typical park food.

The trailer is over by Test Track, across from the “Car Wash.” If you are exiting the Test Track building just keep walking straight ahead towards Mouse Gear and you will see the trailer on your right.  They used to sell pizza here. I had heard that this location was only open during peak periods but the cast member that served us said they will be open all the time.

Here is the menu.

We ordered all 3 grilled cheese sandwiches. The first one is the Gruyere and Applewood Smoked Bacon with Caramelized Onions on a Sour Dough Bread. The bread was toasted nicely but the bread was somewhat soft so it wasn’t hard to eat. It was quite tasty with the onions and the bacon.  We had the choice of a side salad or tomato bisque to go with the sandwich. This sandwich cost $8.99.

The sandwich below is the Canadian Cheddar and Apples with Apple Butter on Cinnamon Raisin Bread. We had the tomato bisque as the side with this sandwich. This sandwich was $9.49.

This tasty sandwich is the Fontina and Tomato Basil with Balsamic Glaze on Sour Dough Bread. It is $8.49.

We have a split decision in our house on which was our favorite sandwich.  First, let me say I would order any of the 3 again. They were quite good and really hit the spot on a hot sunny day in Epcot.  They do have some high-top tables near the trailer where you can stand and eat your meal. Personally, the Canadian Cheddar and Apples was my favorite.  I am strictly a plain Jane type of grilled cheese fan but the cheddar and the apples on raisin bread brought me to a new level of appreciation of the grilled cheese sandwich. My daughter preferred the Fontina and Tomato Basil sandwich as her favorite.  The balsamic glaze was heavenly on this sandwich. The fresh basil and tomatoes were very tasty. I was impressed that this trailer put out such a great product.  They cook them while you wait so if you are hungry be prepared to wait a little while.

The salad was ok, nothing really to get excited about.  If you prefer a salad, the roasted chicken salad on the menu is basically the side salad they put some chicken on. The tomato bisque was tasty with small bits of tomato. I am not really a fan of tomato soup but I enjoyed this small cup of soup.

I think you could split a sandwich if you aren’t too hungry and save some money that way if you are dining with the family. We didn’t try the kids’ grilled cheese.

I think I have found a favorite new place to eat when I visit Epcot. I almost hesitated before sharing this with everyone. I don’t want the secret of this trailer to get out. If you try one of these new tasty sandwiches in Epcot let me know what you think. Till next time, See you in the parks!

Very interested in trying the gruyere and bacon sandwich. I wonder why Universal didn’t think of it first…

Kathy, you give such great information, and all with a joint of humor at times. I love your ” plain Jane” approach because your expectations are not too high so when something is really different and good you can speak to that.
Thank you for always sharing with us Diser’s.

Sorry, I forgot to add: Being a vegetarian, this is a great review of a new place to eat.

I love grilled cheese, they all sound good. But don’t know how I’d feel standing out in the broiling Aug. Sun eatting. Hopefully they may put some tables with umbrellas and chairs if they will be open year round.

It sounds fabulous, but I don’t like to eat outside in the Florida heat.

Thank you so much for this post, I didn’t even know that this existed until your review. I had the Gruyere and Applewood Smoked Bacon with Caramelized Onions on Sour Dough Bread, it was delicious. Such a great option for lunch when at EPCOT.
